IMPORTANT INFORMATION !! This is a great product... YES. Is Vimala a wonderful and educated person... YES. HOWEVER it important to note that, on an internet radio show, I heard Vimala state that she is NOT a handwriting expert OR a handwriting therapist but she IS an ALPHABETICIAN. Is she then qualified to write on handwriting THERAPY? There is a BIG difference in my opinion!! Dr. Pierre Janet, a pioneering French psychologist and philosopher in the field of dissociation and trauma was the first person to prove the connection between a person's past experiences and present-day issues. He is also the first person to use the words "dissociation' and `subconscious'. In many ways he preceded Dr. Sigmund Freud and many consider Janet the true founder of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. He received an honorary doctorate from Harvard in 1936. One of Dr. Pierre Janet's students during the 1940's - a graphologist named Paul S. Colombe - developed the `pen and pencil therapy' or "Grapho-therapeutics". He stated that, when writing, the subconscious sends a message to the hand and, by reversing the process, we could consciously send a different message to the subconscious. Thus grapho-therapy, was developed from this theory although no actual programs per se were put into place or implemented specifically until 1987. In 1987 Treyce d'Gabriel, a Metaphysical Psychologist, who also has traditional psychology degrees and has worked in traditional psychology for most of her life, created the Handwriting Formation Therapy (HFT) program... and copyrighted it 13 years prior to Vimala's first book "Change Your Writing, Change Your Life". Since the conception of Treyce's HFT program, there have been many programs which appear to be unauthorized attempts or copies of her program, most of which classify themselves under an umbrella term of "graphotherapy". Despite Treyce's 2009 YouTube and otherwise public announcement that she would allow "HFT clinics" to be launched all over the world, as of 2010, Treyce has not trained or certified anyone in the HFT discipline stating the certification is currently being developed. In 2006 Treyce was the first analyst in history to conduct research that was aimed at reducing crime recidivism rates via the HFT program. Her 2006 project for the State of Texas Juvenile Probation Commission was a proven success. All the kids that participated remained 100% anonymous and, after the full six month program, improved grades, behaviors, self-esteem, and much more. The most important success is that to-date, none of these kids have reoffended proving that Treyce's HFT program not only reduced, but stopped, juvenile crime recidivism rates in Texas by a full 100%. Since its conception in 1987, hundreds of kids and adults around the globe have changed their life... permanently. I recommend you visit [...] and search for her "No Doc, No Drugs" book aimed at this HFT program. When you want to change your life shouldn't you change it with someone who is clearly qualified... like the creator of the original program?
good value I just received the box set. I am only on day three into the 40 day process that Vimila Rodgers recommends, but think that the set will help with being mindful. Even if you do not buy into the concept of changing your life through handwriting, it can only help to spend a small amount of time each day focusing on Rodgers uplifting spiritual messages. The set is lovely quality and would make a wonderful gift for someone interested in improving their life or who just enjoys journaling.
Watch Your Life Unfold Vimala Rodgers has developed alphabetical patterns based on "sacred technology of the ages" and shares them in Transform Your Life hrough Handwriting: a kit with two CDs, a guidebook, a blank journal and 26 cards. Simply put, the author guides readers and listeners to adopt handwriting patterns that bring their hidden talents, abilities, and dreams to life.
"Writing patterns are a graphic image of how your subconscious mind interprets the world and your place in it. As you adopt new letter shapes, you are telling your mind how to think--for perhaps the first time in your life," says Rodgers.
With an interest in handwriting from early childhood, Rodgers has studied Latin, Sanskrit, history, philosophy, and psychology while holding a vision of a career for herself that involves "the transformational power of the letters." "Each stroke of the pen makes a statement--not about who you are, but about who you say you are, i.e., your self-image," she writes.
I've just pulled a card from the Transform Your Life through Handwriting deck, in my left hand, as Vimala Rodgers suggests on her CD, and asked: "What attitude do I need to bring into my life today?" The letter card I chose is U for open-mindedness. The back of the card reads: "I listen to others as though I know nothing."
The guidebook offers me more information on the "soul quality" of the letter U. If I find it difficult to listen "to what others share, without offering contradictory feedback," I ought to start practicing this letter today. The letter U is part of the alphabetical family Rodgers calls the Family of Learning and Evaluating.
Each letter of the alphabet is described in the guidebook with an element, gender, gemstone, animal and guardian protector. On the CDs, Rodgers describes the letters in the order of their alphabetical families, beginning with the Family of Communication; Family of Learning and Evaluating; Family of Honoring and Expressing; Family of Insight, Family of Applied Creativity, Family of Status and Vision, Family of Trusting and Inner Authority; and ending with Grandfather which is the letter Z.
Besides choosing a letter of the day, Rodgers advises practicing a letter for 40 days, the formation of which she describes in the guidebook and on the CDs. I love Rodgers' voice as it's so down-to-earth and practical. She sounds very comfortable and well-versed in this vision she is sharing with the world.
I've chosen to work with the letter of my first name for 40 days: M. the letter M is "the matriarch of the Family of Honoring and Expressing." All this practicing is done with a pen on unlined paper in the landscape direction as "the portrait direction is common; your dreams are not".
I'm finding the practice meditative and spiritual. While practicing a page of letters, I also get to declare my intent, review the aspects of a particular letter and fill a page with how I see "the aspects of this letter impacting [my] life in an uplifting way."
Rodgers says she loves to work with doubters. She gives an example of a male client who was a skeptic but tried the writing system anyway. After the first 40 days he quit smoking. In the second 40 days he went on retreat to Hawaii and in the third, he stopped drinking. Skeptic or not, it sure seems worth a try. As Rodgers says if you follow her practices: "Now watch your life unfold." Vimala Rodgers has done it and inspires others to express their gifts in the world, to "make a difference doing what you love."

Great Source to Change Your Life The thought of being able to transform your life simply by changing how you write seems like it is impossible. However, each letter you write does have a meaning to how you are as a person, at least according to some people. So, I figured I'd give this program a shot. I had nothing to lose except my bad handwriting.
I used to have pretty good handwriting. It wasn't perfect, but it was legible, and even pretty. It is funny looking back at my handwriting from when I was in high school, to how it is now. Don't get me wrong, it isn't awful. It just doesn't necessarily look like someone in their twenties should have their handwriting look.
That was a little over 40 days ago. I followed this program and wrote my letters each day and wrote out by hand sentences, and sometimes even paragraphs. My handwriting has improved. It isn't a drastic change, but the small changes do make a difference.
I'm not sure if it has changed my life very much, but it does make me re-organize my life in better ways and open for some perhaps unexpected changes that may come from it.
* Thank you to the publisher of Transform Your Life Through Handwriting, Sounds True for providing me with a copy of this set for the review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Beautifully Packaged, Interesting Concept The "Transform Your Life Through Handwriting" book and CD sets out to teach you to use the spiritual energy inherent in letters of the alphabet to direct your thoughts and improve yourself, your life, and your interactions with the world around you. It's beautifully packaged and comes with a guidebook and a CD to guide you in your meditation, a spiral-bound blank book for you to practice your handwriting in, a deck of 26 cards, one for each letter of the alphabet, with things about each letter for you to meditate on as you practice drawing the letter each day. You supply your favorite pen and a willingness to open your mind.
I like the idea of this kit, even if I'm a little bewildered by some aspects of the practice. It all felt so foreign to me, to close my eyes, pick a card from the deck, then inhale and "pray" out loud the letter's intention as I exhale. Maybe that means that this particular aspect of the kit and the practice isn't for me, or it isn't for me yet. I think that people who are used to meditating in this particular way and who are really in tune with their spiritual selves will really get a lot out of this aspect of the kit.
As for what I got out of my first 40 days with "Transform Your Life...", I think that using the intentional act of focusing on writing in the sense of picking up a pen and putting it to the paper and slowly drawing your letters and thinking intentionally about them as you do, is an excellent way to reconnect your hands to your thoughts. So much of our lives these days are so mindless. We type on our computers while watching TV, talking on the phone, and eating a sandwich most of the time. The only time we ever hand-write anything anymore is when we're leaving a quick note or scribbling out a shopping or to-do list. Even if you don't fall in to all the "spiritual energy" of letters this book and CD suggest, you could benefit from devoting a little time each day to focusing on one thing, that pen in your hand, and the letters you're going to draw on real paper with it, no computer, no TV, no phone, no sandwich while you're doing so. Re-learning to do one thing at a time with intention and purpose instead of mindlessly multitasking might be what transforms your life on a very practical level. If you're looking for a way to learn to be in the moment, but you're not interested in having to learn a series of yoga poses or anything like that, this kit could be just what you're looking for, and you can delve as deeply into all the spirituality as you want, or just focus on practicing a letter a day and not being judgmental with yourself as you do so.
