it'syour time. Joel Osteen the service was good. I received the book, which was packed carefully, in a new condition. Im really enjoy reading it. thanks to the seller!
Book Review I bought this as a gift. The recipient was very
pleased with this book.
Another positive reflection on the Art of being human Joel picks up were he left off in his previous publications while demonstrating that he understands the heart of Jesus' teaching: the ineffable is about mercy, extending mercy, and blessing the estranged.
What remains sad is the fear based negative critiques against Osteen simply because he does not march lock step with the fundamentalist narrative and their fear driven world view.
If you are interested in taking up positive and life affirming attitudes, this book is a portal for your action. Joel is affirming the best in people; he is not interested in dominating their views, knocking them down, or projecting his own dysfunctional ego on the downtrodden like so many others who are on a mission to discredit him. (Perhaps this is why the naysayers strike back with an authoritarian thunder, simply because they want everyone else to share their own malaise, depression, and pessimistic view of life, driven by some authority figure telling you what to think.)
Not so with Osteen. Joel is an authentically good guy, with a positive message that seeks to empower people toward a source of goodness and love instead of hatred and existential angst. The difference between a theology of love and one of hate, methinks.
Just ignore the naysayers who want you to join them in their dark and meaningless world void of life giving waters. You don't have to drink from their polluted trough no matter how hard they try to force their deadend attributes on everyone else.
Tea: I believe I will have another cup Overall a very positive and inspiring book for those who may have lost hope in their lives ever changing.
While I don't consider myself a religious person, subscribing to a specific faith, I did appreciate the spirituality in this book. I had to look past the religous references, for myself, to find the deeper meaning behind the Bible passages. I also preferred the real life examples in the book to the passages from the scripture.
As some reviewers have stated, if you have read his previous books, or watched him on TV, this book does contain a lot of the same messages and some of the same stories. I wasn't too bothered by this because they're still great messages. After all, a lot of the inspiring stories relay a similar message, how one person overcame a seemingly insurmountable obstacle to achieve a goal or dream.
I find for myself, I can never be too inspired and I'm willing to look beyond my own beliefs for inspiration and hope.
God is always thinking of You! One of the greatest things I like about Joel Osteen is that in such a negative and pessimistic world we live in he continually reminds us that God is still on the throne and that He wants the very best for our lives ... we just don't happen to believe it. Daily we are bombarded with negative messages that constantly push us back or knock us down, and I find it extremely refreshing to hear a voice of one crying in the wilderness that God is wanting to lift you up ... God is wanting to push you forward .... God is desiring to carry you to greater heights than you could ever imagine. Many complain that Joel accentuates the positive and never mentions the negative ... and that it is just not realistic ... that it is just too simple ... that it is childish and not mature. Well ... I am constantly reminded that to enter the kingdom of heaven we must come come to it as a little child. Joel Osteen's constant reminder that we can take God at His Word and be like a little child again, and simply believe that He truly loves us and wants the best for us ... then it really will be "Your Time"!!!
