You can heal your life, and now is the time There are many people who would describe me as cheerful &friendly. I wouldn't actually disagree. Truthfully, I have a strong spirit, but like any person, I have bad days too. If you wonder why someone like me might need someone like Louise Hay, the answer is easy: in a way, we all do.
I have suffered a lot of loss. A lot.
There comes a time when it all just gets to be too much, and I know many people who couldn't have walked the path that I have and remained as open & loving as I am. Louise Hay helped me do something very important: I had to relearn to love myself.
As an outsider in both the world and my own family, I have been told many things over the years that it became easy to believe: I was fat, ugly stupid and unlovable. Louise Hay's "You Can Heal Your Life" helps remind you that none of that is true. I listened to the tapes faithfully. They helped so much and even better, I was able to share them when my childhood best friend was in the kind of trouble that only someone who'd known her forever could help with.
I handed my cd's over without a second thought, because in talking to her I realized something vital: Louise had helped me so much, and now it was time for her to help someone else. Each person on the planet has a gift, and this one is Louise Hay's. The cd's are perfect in conjunction with the book to relaly drive home the point.
In this society, we are dug pretty deep into a dark, sheltered place, shuttered away from each other. The universe isn't happy that we isolate ourselves from her and from each other. Life doesn't have to suck or be hard. Life is meant to be lived freely & with joy. So get living!
Read this first before your holy book This book was introduced to me in 1992 during a painful divorce and I wasn't able to comprehend its gem like value. It wasn't until I rediscovered it on Amazon, and it is helping change my life before my eyes.
Bothered by the implications I am a firm believer in the importance of positive thinking and the power of the spoken word. However, I was bothered by the implication that the Author believes illnesses such as cancer are caused by the thoughts or words of the individual.
I enjoyed reading her book until I got to the section that discussed the causes of illnesses.
Don't get me wrong, I believe that our mental attitude, thoughts, and self-talk can "negatively impact" our health; but I don't agree that we ourselves cause illnesses such as cancer.
I really like Louise Hay as writer, but this one goes too far.

Good Book I read this book many years ago and have heard Louise Hay peak a couple of times. It is a valuable read...
